TAPS Volunteer of the Year Award:

The award recognizes teens who provide "Service with a Joyful Heart" and embody TAPS' vision and mission.  Every year, TAPS awards one to two teens per class (Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors) with this service award. A teen can only be recogized once with this honor.  This award will be presented to the recipients at the All-TAPS Service Celebration (Farewell meeting) in May.

 

TAPS President’s Service Award:

This special award recognizes the valuable contributions TAPS teens made in our community during their four years in TAPS. The criterion for this award is a graduating senior in good standing. Awards will be given to individuals who have fulfilled the following hours for one of the awards listed below:

  • Gold Volunteer Service Award – 160+ hours
  • Silver Volunteer Service Award – 126-159 hours
  • Bronze Volunteer Service Award – 90-125 hours

This award will be presented to the Senior recipients at the All-TAPS Service Celebration (Farewell meeting) in May.

 

The Founder’s Award:

The Founder’s Award is a perpetual award that honors one graduating senior each year. This award includes a $500 donation in the girls name to her charity of choice. In April, all seniors submit a Reflection Questionnaire. Each questionnaire is given a random letter, no names are listed. The selection Committee, comprised of two community members, one sustainer and two founders review each questionnaire. The submissions are narrowed to three, and then reread for the final selection.

The criteria for the award is:

  • A senior in good standing
  • Someone who was changed by their TAPS experience
  • An individual who best reflects the TAPS spirit of volunteerism – “Changing lives with a joyful heart”.

This award will be presented to the recipients at the All-TAPS Service Celebration (Farewell meeting) in May.
